Alabama Football: Tide land 5-star QB. What’s next?
By Dakota Cox
What will Alabama football do after landing Ty Simpson?
Alabama football is coming off of a national championship and the highest-rated recruiting class in the history of college football. As always, Nick Saban isn’t done. The Crimson Tide just landed Ty Simpson, a 5-star quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class.
Simpson has the talent to be the future at quarterback, and he still has a year of high school to improve before stepping onto campus. Clearly, it will be a while until he is leading Alabama football to victory.
Still, Nick Saban is building for the future with a stud in this draft class. What’s next for Alabama recruiting?
The Crimson Tide will be looking to add more 5-star players to the class, and many are in the state of Alabama. Jeremiah Alexander is the best prospect in the state at WDE, and Alabama will fight hard to land him. The same can be said for Emmanual Henderson, a 5-star running back.
If Alabama were to land Henderson, he would join an absolutely loaded backfield in Tuscaloosa. Even if a player transfers and someone declares for the NFL Draft, there will be plenty of depth at this position for the foreseeable future.
Alabama football recruited a massive offensive line and wide receiver class in 2021. They usually prefer to skip seasons when it comes to recruiting, so look for them to attack the tight end position instead. However, they will always add the best players they can, so don’t be surprised if another 5-star tackle commits.
This class will pivot as the summer ends. Saban doesn’t have to worry about recruiting players early. As long as he gets to make a pitch, Alabama is firmly in the mix for any recruit. That means that Saban can take the time to evaluate the class and see who would be a good fit. When players have committable offers this early, it simply means that they are good enough to make the team under any circumstances. That’s a good sign for Simpson, and it will be a good sign if Alabama lands another star before the summer begins.
Alabama recruiting is always fun to watch, and this class is already off to a great start. Expect more great things from the Crimson Tide in the coming weeks.
