NFL free agency fits for Alabama football’s Mark Ingram

4. Arizona Cardinals

In terms of the running back position, Arizona is in a similar situation as Atlanta. They had a quality option last year with Alabama football‘s Kenyan Drake, but he is a free agent. They might bring him back if they can find the right number, but that is not a guarantee. If he leaves for a new team, the Cardinals need a pass-catching running back. Mark Ingram fits that mold.

The Cardinals will be looking to compete in the NFC West next season. They were one game away from making the playoffs last year, and they are trending upward as Kyler Murray improves. However, they have to address offensive line issues in the draft, and they would like to add another receiver if possible. They also need to get younger on defense.

Unless the Cardinals draft a running back in the first three rounds, they should look at adding a veteran in free agency. Even if they end up losing the starting role, the mentorship that a vet brings is valuable. With a character like Mark Ingram, it can be priceless.

Ingram helped mentor Alvin Kamara in New Orleans. He mentored JK Dobbins in Baltimore. He could do something similar if the Cardinals draft a running back for the future.

This fit makes sense, and the Cardinals can afford him. We’ll see if it ends up happening.
