NFL free agency fits for Alabama football’s Mark Ingram

2. Miami Dolphins

This only makes sense in one scenario. The Dolphins need an upgrade at running back, but they will likely draft one early. If they do that, then Ingram could be a reserve back and a mentor for the rookie. He would not be the starter, but this depends on what Mark Ingram cares about this season.

Miami will be competing for a playoff spot this year if they play their cards right. They were one win away from making it in 2020, and Alabama football’s Tua Tagovailoa will be ready to improve. If the Dolphins bolster the offensive line and give Tagovailoa a few weapons, this offense will look totally different next season.

Miami has been tied to many running backs. Some believe they will sign Aaron Jones, who has 43 career touchdowns. However, Jones is more one-dimensional than Ingram. It might make more sense to draft Najee Harris and sign Mark Ingram than it would to sign Aaron Jones on a large contract.

Jones is undoubtedly a better running back with more gas in the tank, but it’s all about value at this point. Adding Ingram as a mentor to a young offense makes plenty of sense, and it would pair an Alabama football quarterback with a Heisman-winning running back.
