Wilson saw limited action as a true freshman in 2005, playing in five games. He became the starter for the Tide in 2006. In 13 games as starting Quarterback, he passed for 2,707 yards with 17 touchdowns.

In 2007, Wilson completed 255 of his 464 passes for a total of 2,846 yards and 18 touchdowns.  Due to also throwing 12 interceptions in 2007, his quarterback rating was 114.6, the lowest of his college career. His best game of the 2007 season was against the Tennessee Vols, passing for 363 yards and three touchdowns.

In his senior season for the Tide in 2008, Wilson led the team to a 12-2 record. The highlight of the season was the 36-0 thrashing of Auburn. In 2008, Wilson passed for 2,273 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In Wilson’s Alabama career he passed for 7,924 yards and rushed for 175 yards. He threw 47 touchdown passes. Wilson is the Tide’s No. 2 for All-time Career Passing Yards and also No. 2 for Career TD Passes.

Wilson was undrafted in 2009 but signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons. Wilson spent most of five NFL seasons on practice squads with Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Pittsburgh. He did not see action in any regular-season NFL games.
