At Butler High School in Huntsville, AL, Darby rushed for over 4500 yards. He was one of the top running backs in the state of Alabama but it wasn’t enough to gain him a 4-Star rating.

Kenneth Darby redshirted during the 2002 season. He saw limited action in 2003, playing in ten games and rushing for 185 yards.

In 2004 Darby became a mainstay in the Tide’s Offense. Darby rushed for 1021 yards and scored six touchdowns. His first career start was against Southern Miss when he rushed for 197 yards.
Also in 2004, Darby rushed for 200 yards against Mississippi State and was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week.

As a junior in 2005, Darby rushed for 1241 yards, including five consecutive 100-yard rushing games. His 145 yards against South Carolina earned him SEC Player of the Week honors.

In his 2006 senior season, Darby rushed for 835 yards. Darby is No. 5 on the Alabama all-time career rushing list with 3,324 yards and No. 9 on the all-time career all-purpose yards with 3,669 yards.

Darby was drafted by Tampa Bay in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played in only one game for the Bucs, with two carries for nine yards.

From 2008-2010 Darby played three seasons for the St. Louis Rams. He played 40 games for the Rams, getting one start. With the Rams, Darby rushed for 399 yards on 95 carries. He scored two touchdowns in his NFL career.
