Alabama football is at the forefront of 2021 NFL Draft debates

2. What order will the receivers be drafted?

Last year, this was the top debate. There was a tier including three wide receivers, and many people had the order different. Obviously, the two Alabama football receivers went first and second in front of CeeDee Lamb. We are in a similar situation in 2021, but we might not get a similar result.

Ja’Marr Chase had an electric 2019 season, but he opted out in 2020. He is up there with two Alabama football studs, but we’ll have to wait until April to see what the order is. It feels as if either Chase or DeVonta Smith will be drafted by the Dolphins at third overall, but a trade could happen. There is also a chance for Jaylen Waddle to be drafted first out of this group. After all, no one thought that Henry Ruggs would be the first receiver drafted in 2020.

When it comes to receivers, scheme fit matters so much. Some will value Waddle’s speed. Others will value Smith’s smoothness and catch radius. Some will go for the explosion of Chase. Honestly, you probably can’t go wrong with any of these guys.

Trades could impact the order, but the draft will determine how these players are truly valued. Still, people will debate the order until the 2021 NFL Draft is over.
