How can the Miami Dolphins help Alabama football’s favorite quarterback?
Tua Tagovailoa landed in a hard situation when he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins, but they were a game away from making the NFL Playoffs. With a few key additions, Alabama football can see how good Tagovailoa can truly be.
Miami has some salary cap room to work with, but they also have tons of NFL Draft capital. They have some decisions to make surrounding whether or not to trade Tua, but they should stick with the quarterback they drafted.
With that in mind, here are a few ways they can fix their issues on offense with some realistic draft scenarios. They have two first-round picks and an early pick in the second. If they play their cards right, they could get three key starters on offense with those picks.
Scenario 1: DeVonta Smith, Najee Harris, Landon Dickerson
This is the all Alabama football scenario. The Dolphins could draft DeVonta Smith and give Tagovailoa a true WR1 with their first pick. After that, they need to add a running back to the fold. Najee Harris is easily the best back in the class, and he has great chemistry with Tua. He would alleviate pressure with every play he makes. From his ability to pass protect to his agility in open space, he will make an NFL team very happy. In this scenario, he makes the Dolphins happy with the 18th pick in the draft.
That leaves Landon Dickerson with their first pick in the second round. Dickerson might not be available at this point, but this is assuming he will be. Dickerson would add leadership to the line and increase the standard as a unit. With him in the locker room, everyone would get better.
