NFL Draft scenarios for Miami to help Alabama football’s Tua Tagovailoa

This next scenario takes a new approach to the situation. Many believe the Dolphins will take a receiver with their first pick, but what if they took a lineman there and focused on skill players later in the draft?

Penei Sewell, Rashod Bateman, Travis Etienne

Sewell is seen as the best player in this draft outside of Trevor Lawrence. With the issues on the offensive line, Miami will take a serious look at him before deciding to draft a receiver. This scenario includes no Alabama football stars on offense, but it surrounds Tua with talent at the three key positions.

Miami could likely draft any receiver outside of the top 3 with their second pick. If they wanted to, they could trade up to snag Jaylen Waddle. If they wanted Bateman, Elijah Moore or Kadarius Toney, they could have their choice.

Etienne is where this gets interesting. Many will have Javonte Williams from UNC above him, and that would be quality value. However, that should be considered later in the draft. If they want to take a running back with their first pick in the second round, Etienne is the most likely option.

With this final scenario, let’s take into account some of the rumors surrounding free agency. They might not be true, but they could impact what the Dolphins do.
