How many Alabama football players will be drafted in this mock draft?

With every day, the picture for next year’s NFL season comes more into focus. Now that teams are cutting players for the sake of the cap, the need to draft well in the 2021 NFL Draft is more important. With that comes the chance for Alabama football players to shine.

Fans are used to the tradition of sending former players to NFL teams. It will sometimes work, like when Dont’a Hightower became a Super Bowl champion and captain for the New England Patriots. Sometimes, the fit limited what a player could do. Either way, this class is filled with Tide players who have a chance to change the trajectories of many NFL teams.

The closer we get to April, the more obvious it becomes that some teams need to make a trade to solve their problems. With that in mind, this 2021 NFL mock draft will include trades. Some teams will look to trade back to acquire picks. Others will take a risk to land a franchise quarterback.

Which Alabama football player will be drafted first? Will the Dolphins add Tide weapons to support Tua? Before we answer those questions, we have to start with the most obvious selection in the mock draft.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

At this point, you have to draft Lawrence. He has the traits and size. He’s athletic. His leadership is off the charts. If the Jaguars did anything besides draft Lawrence, they would lose the fan base.

Urban Meyer went to the NFL to coach Lawrence. He might still be a bust, but there is nothing you can add to this selection that hasn’t already been said.
