Alabama Football: 2021 NFL Mock Draft 2.0 with trades

LA lands an offensive weapon
13. Los Angeles Chargers: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
Many will have Kyle Pitts going as high as 3rd overall, and a glimpse of his tape explains why. He does things that very few humans can do at his size. However, that would be a huge risk. Many tight ends struggle early in their careers, and the best in the NFL were drafted in later rounds.
Because of that, I have Pitts sliding slightly. At this point, it is well worth the risk. The Chargers need athletic weapons on offense as they build around Justin Herbert, and Kyle Pitts would be a key addition.
The Chargers have solid weapons already, but you can never give your young quarterback too many targets. Adding Pitts would add a wrinkle to this offense if Pitts is able to live up to the hype.
Los Angeles also needs offensive line help and a few key players on defense, but the value here is too good to pass up. Herbert to Pitts would be one of the best young pairings in the NFL, and this offense would be ready to compete with the Chiefs twice a year.
While the Chargers need to do a lot of things to compete for a playoff slot, this would be another step in the right direction. Fans should be happy if this is the outcome in April.
