The Chiefs add an Alabama football offensive lineman

31. Kansas City Chiefs: Landon Dickerson, OC, Alabama

When I started this process, the Kansas City Chiefs had not yet cut their two starting tackles. However, I still have them taking a center for a few reasons. For starters, they need help across the offensive line. They also need someone to change the culture, and Dickerson proved that he can do that with his time with Alabama football.

Also, Patrick Mahomes recently restructured his contract to add cap space. The Chiefs can now pursue some free agents, and it would be better to add veterans at tackle and drafting a center.

The Chiefs can find another quality tackle later in the draft, but they likely can’t find someone as good as Alabama football’s Landon Dickerson by the next time they draft.

Dickerson is an elite center, and every rep feels like a highlight. He can also move to guard when needed, and his leadership is potent. He would go to war for either of the quarterbacks he protected during his time with Alabama football, and that is what the Chiefs want in a franchise lineman.

The Chiefs might want to stay away from a lineman who is coming off of an injury, but there is no doubt that this fit makes sense.
