Tampa Bay adds an Alabama football lineman as well

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Alex Leatherwood, OT, Alabama

The Bucs are hard to mock. In all honesty, they could easily be looking to make a trade to find more value. Still, I have them taking an offensive tackle.

Last offseason, they drafted Tristan Wirfs, and he has been elite as a rookie. That being said, the Bucs could use another lineman to help protect Tom Brady. If he really wants to play through the entirety of his contract, he is going to need the best offensive line in the NFL. You don’t get that by settling.

Leatherwood started at right guard, but he moved to tackle for two Alabama football seasons. He was a top prospect out of high school, and he has the traits necessary to thrive in the NFL. His technique is refined, and he stepped up as a leader for the 2020 championship team.

Leatherwood stepped into the 2018 National Championship with minimal experience and protected Tua during the final minutes. He knows how to compete, and he knows what it takes to win. Some might see him as a second-round prospect, but he should truly be considered a franchise left tackle. At the very least, he can also be a guard prospect.
