Where will Alabama football players go in the NFL Draft?

The NFL Draft is next month, and every NFL team will consider adding Alabama football players to the roster. While there are only so many players available, teams will do at least some analysis on each former Tide player. They will dive into their needs and see where prospects fit into their scheme.

While fit matters, draft capital matters as well. Some teams need a receiver, but will they be drafting before Waddle and Smith are taken? Could someone consider taking Dylan Moses in the later rounds?

With that in mind, here are the most likely Alabama football draft prospects for each team in the 2021 NFL Draft. We’ll go conference by conference, starting with the AFC East

Buffalo Bills: Najee Harris

Buffalo drafts late in the first round, and that makes it more likely that they address the need at running back. Their offense is electric, but Josh Allen needs a new running back to trust.

Harris would work well in this offense, and both parties would benefit. The Bills are looking to beat teams like Kansas City in the AFC, and that means their offense needs to get even better. Harris would be a weapon between the tackles, on the outside and in the passing game.

Miami Dolphins: DeVonta Smith

Miami will consider plenty of Alabama football players. Najee Harris is on the list at pick No. 18, and they might trade back and take Jaylen Waddle. However, Smith makes a ton of sense with their first pick. Even after free agency, they need a top-tier receiver. They might draft Ja’Marr Chase, but I find it more likely that they will draft Smith than it is for them to take any other Tide prospect.

New England Patriots: Mac Jones

New England has been on a spending spree, but they still need a quarterback for the future. Even after resigning Cam Newton, their issues at quarterback aren’t completely solved. Newton struggled last year, and the additions won’t be enough to make the Patriots a perennial contender.

This would be a great landing spot for Jones, and it is very likely to happen if he falls in the 2021 NFL Draft.

New York Jets: Najee Harris

The Jets have a lot of needs, but this comes down to where they draft. They will likely add a quarterback with their second pick, but they could take Harris later in the first round or early in the second round. They could also be in the market for Alex Leatherwood and Christian Barmore.
