Which Alabama football players will NFL teams try to draft?

Houston Texans: Miller Forristall

This is simply due to draft capital. Houston doesn’t have a pick in the first two rounds as of now, and it is hard to project who they would need without knowing what they will get in return for a Deshaun Watson trade. They need help across the roster, but all of the best Alabama football players will be gone early.

That leaves role players they can add later in the draft, and Forristall fits that bill. He is a quality blocking tight end, but he is also good enough to make a play with the football in his hands.

Indianapolis Colts: Alex Leatherwood

The Colts have a gaping hole at left tackle as of right now. Unless they sign someone in free agency, it will be a top need as they prepare for the Carson Wentz era. Leatherwood can play at guard or tackle, so his versatility adds value.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Christian Barmore

Jacksonville will take Trevor Lawrence with their first pick, but their options open up after that. They need defensive line depth among other needs, so Barmore makes sense in the first round. Urban Meyer will likely take a look at players from blue-blood programs, so almost any Alabama football player should be considered. Najee Harris would also be a great fit after the Jaguars cut Leonard Fournette last season.

Tennessee Titans: Alex Leatherwood

The Titans have lost many offensive linemen over the last two seasons. Isaiah Wilson was traded, so they need a right tackle. Leatherwood might not be ready to make the switch to the right side of the ball, but he has to be considered. The Titans won’t be looking for Smith, Waddle or Harris, so the options are slim. In all honesty, they are one of the least likely teams to draft an Alabama football player.
