Dylan Moses will not work out during the second Alabama Football, NFL Pro Day on Tuesday.

For former Alabama football linebacker, Dylan Moses the path to future NFL stardom has been treacherous. Moses missed the 2019 Crimson Tide season with a knee injury. It was learned Monday that Dylan Moses spent most of the Alabama Football, 2020 season, playing hurt.

After missing the 2019 season, the former 5-Star Crimson Tide recruit chose to delay a move to the NFL. It made sense to use a senior season to show NFL teams he had fully recovered. It didn’t work out the way Moses intended.

In advance of Tuesday’s second and final Alabama Football Pro Day, Moses revealed what happened.

"It happened, I believe, the third game of the season. That’s when I really started feeling it. It was said that it was a bone bruise, but it kept bothering me throughout the year. I just never really spoke up about it. I’m the type of person that’s like if I’m in pain, I never wanna leave the field, so I just didn’t say anything about it. I was dealing with that the entire year"

Not only did Dylan Moses play with pain in 11 games, but the latest knee problem also reduced his effectiveness. He had a good season leading the Alabama Crimson Tide with 80 total tackles, including 6.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks; plus an interception, three pass breakups and a forced fumble. Even with those stats, Moses’ 2020 performance was not perceived as great by Crimson Tide fans. Those perceptions were too harsh, given news of the most recent knee injury, but it is doubtful Dylan’s performance lived up to his own expectations.

The young man was not complaining when he delivered news of his 2020 injury. Instead, he said,

"I’m thankful that I (didn’t say anything) because it made me stronger and I was able to help my teammates get to the ultimate goal and win a national championship."

Moses had his torn meniscus surgically repaired on Feb. 9 and is still recovering. He will not take part in Tuesday’s Pro Day workouts. He will meet with representatives of NFL teams, answering all their questions, including details of what is expected to be a full recovery from the injury.

Dylan Moses earned the respect of teammates throughout his Alabama football career. He earned more for what he endured to play in 2020. Patrick Surtain II said,

"I didn’t know that until he said it after the season. But for him to play through that, that just goes to show you how tough he is, how much of a competitor he is."

Once considered a future NFL first-round selection, Moses’ injury problems have likely pushed him down to late second-round to late third-round.
