2021 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

2. New York Jets: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU

Now that the draft is getting closer, it is becoming more obvious that the Jets will take Zach Wilson. Despite having Sam Darnold on the roster, they are looking to find a new franchise quarterback.

This was proven when the 49ers traded up to 3. If the Jets weren’t looking to take a quarterback, they would have accepted the offer from San Francisco. Instead, they stayed put. Don’t be surprised if Sam Darnold is on a new NFL team very soon.

While everyone has an opinion about the quarterback rankings, Wilson does have traits that no one else has. He has that ability to keep a play alive and make an elite throw on the run with his cannon of an arm.

Justin Fields can keep plays alive, and so can Trey Lance. However, Wilson keeps his eyes downfield and makes those plays that are incredibly unique. With the Jets needing a better offensive line and more skill players, this seems to be the move.

Wilson might be a bust, but he has the highest ceiling in my eyes. It appears that the New York Jets are going to swing for the fences this year.
