2021 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

28. New Orleans Saints: Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss

The New Orleans Saints are at the beginning of a new era. While they would love to move up for a franchise quarterback, they simply don’t have the capital to do so without mortgaging their entire future. Even then, it would be a massive stretch.

With that in mind, they need to simply build out a solid roster and hope that either Jameis Winston becomes the guy or that they can land a star quarterback in the future. With that in mind, I have the Saints taking Elijah Moore, the receiver out of Ole Miss.

Moore is an elite receiver thanks to his strong hands and smooth routes. In Sean Payton’s scheme, he would help make Winston’s life significantly easier. While Michael Thomas can work underneath, Moore can do some of that and also open up the rest of the field.

After losing Sanders, the Saints need a WR2. They could add youth to the line and some key players on defense, but the value here makes too much sense. If they leave the first round with a receiver as good as Elijah Moore, they should be happy with the result.

Moore isn’t perfect, but he surely helps you improve this offense during one of the toughest pivots in the NFL.
