2021 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

4. Atlanta Falcons: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

This is a tough one. The draft truly starts with the fourth pick. While we’re not sure who San Francisco will take, we at least know that they will draft a quarterback. The Falcons could go in a variety of directions.

Many will have the Falcons drafting the fourth-best quarterback of the draft, and that could easily happen. However, they aren’t a quarterback away from being an NFC contender. They have plenty of needs, and they could instead opt to stick with Matt Ryan and solve the quarterback problem later.

If they don’t take Justin Fields, a few other things could happen. We could see them draft Penei Sewell, but offensive tackle isn’t their top need. There are plenty of elite receivers, but that’s Atlanta’s biggest strength thanks to two Alabama football stars outside. That leaves either a defensive player or a trade back. With no defensive value here, I see them taking Kyle Pitts.

Pitts is simply an offensive weapon. If you can tap into his potential, he could be one of the best tight ends in NFL history. That isn’t a guarantee, but the ceiling is massive with Kyle Pitts.

We have never seen quarterbacks drafted with the first four picks. I don’t see Atlanta drafting QB4, but I could easily be wrong.
