5 bold predictions for Alabama football’s A Day Game

2. Brian Robinson won’t be the star running back

Brian Robinson will definitely start with the first team if he is healthy. However, Alabama’s depth will be on full display in the A Day Game. Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams will also be on the field. Depending on how they split up the teams, one of these players will shine as they go against the second team.

McClellan shined during limited reps during his freshman season. He averaged over 10 yards per carry. While that average won’t hold as he gets more carries, he showed his potential last season. He has what it takes to shine in the A Day Game.

The first team will be displaying Bryce Young’s talent. That will cut into Brian Robinson’s reps. While he will likely be a star, don’t be shocked if his touches are limited on Saturday.

One potential star at running back is Keilan Robinson, but he might be switching positions. On Alabama’s website, his position was changed to wide receiver. It was changed back to running back the same day, so it could simply be a mistake. We’ll have to wait until Saturday to see where Robinson lines up. If he is still a running back, he could shine during the A Day Game. If not, players like Roydell Williams will see increased roles.
