Alabama football players are all over this NFL Mock Draft

Miami set the record for most first-round draft picks from one team, but Alabama football has a great chance to at least tie it. In this 2021 NFL Mock Draft, they break the record with seven total players going in the first 32 picks.

After four mock drafts, the picture is somewhat clearer for the top teams in the draft. We know who the first two players will be, and we expect Alabama football’s Mac Jones to go third overall. Some trades and rumors have helped us connect the dots as well.

However, the picture isn’t as clear as a crystal. Will the Falcons take a quarterback? Will the Patriots trade up? What about other teams looking to make it back to the NFL Playoffs?

Since I chose not to have any trades for this mock draft, here are the picks in the current order. We’ll start with Jacksonville on the clock, but they might as well have turned in their card in January.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

Trevor Lawrence has donated to Jacksonville charities. Jaguars fans have bought things on his public wedding registry. If the Jaguars take anyone other than Trevor Lawrence, I will eat my shoe.

This is the right pick, but Lawrence isn’t perfect. He had turnover issues in key games. Still, he has room to improve with an NFL training staff. If he can continue to use his athleticism effectively and cut down on the turnovers, he has what it takes to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
