Alabama football breaks record in NFL Mock Draft 5.0

18. Miami Dolphins: Jaelan Phillips, EDGE, Miami

Miami currently has two picks in the first round, so they should be able to go to sleep on Thursday with two players who can impact the Dolphins in their rookie seasons. They landed an Alabama football receiver with the first pick, but Phillips would be a great addition here.

Phillips had tons of success in Miami. He only played one season, but he put some great film on the record and padded his stats along the way. He showed great athleticism as he dominated offensive lines every week.

The Dolphins need tons of help on offense, but adding an edge rusher would be nice. It is one of their biggest defensive needs, and it will help with the mobile quarterbacks of the AFC East.

Phillips is a quality prospect, but he has some question marks on his scouting report. He has a history of concussions. In the trenches, that is a massive red flag. He also only has one season of quality tape to his name. If he had another year to his name, he would have fewer question marks.

There is no doubt that Phillips will be a success if he can stay healthy. He has the highest upside, but no one can agree on how to rank the edge class.
