Alabama football breaks record in NFL Mock Draft 5.0

26.Cleveland Browns: Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan

The Browns are coming off of an incredibly successful season that included a playoff berth and victory. With almost every key player returning, they have dreams of winning the AFC in the upcoming season. While they could look for a more pressing need, this is more of a long-term decision.

The Browns need help on the edge. They signed Jadeveon Clowney, but this is his fourth team in a few short years. He is far from a lock to be a cornerstone player, so you have to draft a young player to learn behind him this year. If Clowney returns, you simply have depth. If he leaves, Paye can fill in.

Playing on the same defense as Myles Garrett has its perks. Paye would never have pressure to be the only guy making plays. He could rack up sacks while teams are busy trying to stop Garrett on the other side of the line.

Paye could be the first edge taken in 2021, but there has been a debate with plenty of these players. He could easily slide to the second round because NFL teams simply prefer the other options. That being said, he could also go in the teens because someone thinks he is the best in the class.
