Alabama football breaks record with NFL Mock Draft 5.0

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Alijah Vera-Tucker, OG, USC

What are the Bucs going to do with this pick? Your guess is as good as mine. They could look to add a player like Rousseau to add depth on defense. Adding help to the secondary is always a smart move, and there are plenty of receivers on the board.

It would make plenty of sense for Tampa Bay to also trade back for future picks. They want to win now, but they return every starter from the Super Bowl. They have depth at key positions, and they can probably win the NFC South without making a massive improvement.

Still, this draft doesn’t do mock trades, and there is one player who should easily go in the first round that is still on the board. Guard isn’t a major need for the Bucs, but adding Alijah Vera-Tucker to protect Tom Brady is always going to make fans happy.

Vera-Tucker is going to be an incredible guard. The only reason that he fell so far is because the growing belief is that he can’t play tackle. He did at USC, but he was clearly better as a guard.

If Vera-Tucker had the chance to play at tackle, he would likely go in the teens. He still could, but I see him slipping just a bit because of this issue. He can do a simple thing very well, so he still has plenty to contribute to an NFL team.
