Alabama Football: Julio Jones could be traded from Atlanta

Alabama football’s Julio Jones could be on the move
Since the Atlanta Falcons traded up to draft Julio Jones, Alabama football fans have been watching him thrive. Jones helped lead the Falcons to a Super Bowl appearance and has been the best receiver in football for quite some time.
At this point in his career, it appears the Falcons are considering parting ways with the future Hall-of-Famer. Ian Rapaport is reporting that the Falcons are taking calls on Jones. They would have to move him after June 1 due to salary cap restrictions, but the Falcons need to make cap moves if they want to avoid penalties down the line.
This has always been a possibility. It is rare for any player to play their entire career with one NFL team. Despite Jones’s success in Atlanta, he could eventually become too expensive. With the Falcons having a new GM and head coach, they could look to get younger and build through the NFL Draft.
Jones is the reason why many Alabama football fans root for the Falcons. He has been a top receiver over the course of his NFL career. His strength and speed are rare, and he is always a threat to make a big play.
However, the Falcons have other weapons in the offense. Alabama football’s Calvin Ridley emerged as a young star last year, and his deal will be cheaper over the next few years. They could also draft Kyle Pitts in the first round this Thursday.
Fans will hope to see Jones stay in Atlanta, but he could be on his way out. Regardless, he has brought plenty of great moments to the Falcons. His constant success has raised the standard for the Atlanta Falcons.
In terms of landing spots, Jones will have an affordable contract after a trade. Teams like Miami and Tennessee could consider adding him to the roster depending on how the 2021 NFL Draft goes. We’ll have to see how this plays out.
