Rumors are swirling regarding Alabama football players ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The 2021 NFL Draft is this week, and the rumor mill is up and running. Alabama football players are at the forefront of some of the top rumors ahead of Thursday.

With the draft impacting the future of the NFL, you have to be careful with rumors. Are teams spreading misinformation to help them land their favorite players? Are agents starting rumors to boost their clients’ draft stock? All of this makes it hard to believe anything you hear the week before the 2021 NFL Draft.

Still, these are the top rumors that involve Alabama football players.

Is Mac Jones QB3?

Mac Jones will find out where he will go on Thursday, and many believe that he will go to San Francisco with the third overall pick. He has been rumored to go there since they made the trade, but it is far from a guarantee.

Right now, the rumors point towards him being a finalist for San Francisco. According to Ian Rapaport, the 49ers will choose either Trey Lance or Jones.

This would be a dream fit for Jones, and it looks like he is still in the running. We’ll see if the 49ers pull the trigger on the Alabama football quarterback or choose to go in another direction.

Smitty’s weight is not an issue

DeVonta Smith is going to be one of the thinnest NFL players this season. Many will scoff at someone his size being drafted early, but he dominated at his size during his Alabama football career.

Brian Flores of the Miami Dolphins commented about Smith’s size, and he said that all he cares about is if someone is a good player. He believes Smith has what it takes to succeed in the NFL.

Could the Dolphins take Smith with the sixth overall pick? There is a chance. It depends on who is drafted in the top five and if someone wants to trade up, but don’t be surprised if Smitty becomes a Dolphin.

Is Christian Barmore falling?

We’ve covered how Alabama football’s Christian Barmore could go early in the 2021 NFL Draft because of the depth at the position, but some people have reported concerns. Right now, rumors say that he struggled to accept coaching at Alabama.

I don’t have any inside information that could help me confirm or deny this. Again, this is that time of year where misinformation runs rampant. Regardless of the rumors, Barmore had great production and traits at the end of the 2020 season. If he continues to improve, he will be worth drafting. Still, this could make him slip in the first round on Thursday.
