What should Alabama football fans expect this Thursday?
The 2021 NFL Draft is finally here, and Alabama football fans will finally see where their favorite players will go. Thursday will determine the futures of many Tide stars as they learn where their new home will be for the foreseeable future.
We’ve looked at dream landing spots. We’ve done mock drafts. We’ve even looked at some Alabama football players as prospects. Now, let’s make some bold predictions about the 2021 NFL Draft.
We could make easy predictions, but those feel like locks at this point. We know Mac Jones will be drafted in the first round. Alabama will see a handful of prospects taken early, and some guys will fall to Day 2. To avoid that, these predictions have to be bold and unique.
5. Mac Jones will be booed off the stage
For some reason, San Francisco 49ers fans can’t accept that they traded up to take Mac Jones. They have spent all their time since the trade discrediting him as a player. Still, he will almost certainly be the pick.
Expect a dumpster fire after that pick is made. Fans will erupt on Twitter and other social media platforms. If any fans are in attendance, they will likely boo the pick. We saw a similar reaction when the New York Giants took Daniel Jones early in the first round a few years ago.
This has nothing to do with Jones’s potential in the NFL. I think what he did with Alabama football will translate to the next level. He will be in the best situation imaginable. Still, I see the fans not reacting kindly to their new franchise quarterback.
