Which Alabama football players won the first round?

The first round of the 2021 NFL Draft is over, and Alabama football saw more players drafted than they have ever seen in the first round. However, not all landing spots are the same. Some players go to Super Bowl contenders, but others go to terrible teams with no hope of making it to playoffs.

All things considered, this was almost an ideal first round for Alabama football players. Three went in the top 10, and others were not far behind them. So, who were the winners and losers of the 2021 NFL Draft after one round of picks?

Winner: Jaylen Waddle

Waddle went from a devastating ankle injury in 2020 to the first Alabama football player drafted in 2021. Not only that, but he went to a great team with a chance to win their division. He will be catching passes from Tua, his former quarterback in Tuscaloosa.

This is a great scheme fit. It’s the earliest Waddle could possibly go, which means he made a ton of money. His jersey sales will rise, and he will get great production.

Loser: Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys wanted to draft Alabama football’s Patrick Surtain, but he was the second corner drafted ahead of Dallas. That means the Cowboys could not address their biggest need in the first round. Instead, they traded back with the Philadelphia Eagles, their biggest rivals.

Philly took DeVonta Smith, giving them a legit WR1 for the foreseeable future. The Cowboys handed the Eagles a Heisman winner at receiver, and they don’t have anyone who can cover him.
