Grading landing spots for Alabama football players

Landon Dickerson, Philadelphia Eagles: B

Dickerson only fell out of the first round because of his injury history. While he will play well in Philly, he likely won’t play at center as a rookie. He will instead be a guard, which isn’t his ideal position.

The problem with this landing spot isn’t that it’s necessarily bad. It’s just that there could’ve been better options for Alabama’s captain. He would’ve done great in Kansas City if they hadn’t traded their first-round pick. The Ravens and Dolphins were also great landing spots.

The fact remains that Philadelphia won’t be competing for a title this year, so he’ll have to wait.

Christian Barmore, New England Patriots: B-

Barmore will be well-coached in New England, so he will be the best player he can possibly be. However, this would’ve been a better landing spot a few years ago. New England invested a ton in free agency, but they’re still behind other teams in the AFC.

Barmore was expected to go in the first round, so falling to the second hurts this landing spot as well. Still, Barmore is set to have a great NFL career. If he plays well in New England, he’ll make money on his second contract with another team who is willing to overpay for Patriot players.
