No. 1 – DeVonta Smith (2017-2020)

Of course, DeVonta Smith is at the top of this list. How could a Heisman-winning Crimson Tide wide receiver not be on top? Even had Smitty not won the Heisman, his Alabama Football, SEC and FBS records would have made him No. 1.

For the Crimson Tide, Smith combined speed with soft hands and precise route-running. He will forever be known for his one-half stats in the 2021 National Championship game, torching Ohio State for 12 catches, 215 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The Buckeyes were simply unable to cover him.

DeVonta is the Crimson Tide record holder in eight of the top nine stats for receivers.

DeVonta Smith Alabama Football Records

  • No. 1 – 235 Career Receptions
  • No. 1 – 15 Single Game Receptions
  • No. 1 – 3,965 Career Receiving Yards
  • No. 1 – 1,856 Single Season Receiving Yards
  • No.1 – 274 Single Game Receiving Yards and No. 2, 231 Single Game Receiving Yards
  • No. 1 – 46 Career Touchdowns
  • No. 1 – 23 Single Season Receiving Touchdowns
  • No. 1 – 5 Single Game Receiving Touchdowns and No. 2, 4 Single Game Receiving Touchdowns

In addition, 1,856, 2020 season yards is the No. 1 all-time SEC record.  Smith is also the SEC’s No. 1 all-time with 23, 2020 receiving touchdowns. To top off the accolades, Smith’s career 46 TD catches is No. 1 all-time among FBS, Power Five receivers.

There is little more to say about DeVonta except he was a tremendous team leader and an exceptional person.
