This is Fall Camp week for Alabama Football. The first day is Friday, Aug. 6. Crimson Tide fans know the drill well. There is no camp depth chart, only Nick Saban’s and the staff’s organizational charts. For many positions, the organizational charts are more fitting. There is little firm in depth charts until after the second of the two closed, camp scrimmages. Between the offensive and defensive units, no more than about a dozen players can be considered first-team locks.

The competition for the other starting slots and all the second-unit positions will be both fierce and fluid.

The Alabama Crimson Tide Offensive Depth Chart includes 12 positions to accommodate two tight end and three wide receiver options. Thirteen positions were used for the Crimson Tide defense to allow for four linebackers and six defensive backs.

A separate special teams depth chart is not included. Will Reichard is the placekicker for kickoffs, field goals and extra points. Who will become the Tide’s starting punter is a mystery. It is also too early to predict returners, with many players having chances to earn those starting roles.

None of the summer enrollees, except for JUCO, Khyree Jackson and transfers, Jameson Williams and Henry To’o To’o were considered for the two-deep projection. Some of the others could make moves during Fall Camp. JoJo Earle, Terrion Arnold, Camar Wheaton and a few others will be hard to keep off the field, but most will be fighting for special teams roles.
