Now entering year four in Tuscaloosa, Cameron Latu is a popular breakout candidate entering the 2021 campaign after appearing in 12 games a year ago.
After coming to Alabama as a defensive end, the former four-star recruit redshirted during the 2018 season recording one tackle in the season opener against Louisville. After transitioning to tight end for the 2019 season, Latu has appeared in 25 total games so far during his Alabama career, seeing time primarily on special teams.
Even despite having yet to record a reception during his three seasons with the Crimson Tide, that should change this season for Latu as he could very easily be set as Alabama No. 2 option at the position. Likely to remain as a prominent special teams player for Alabama, Latu should factor more into the passing game this season with his A-Day performance potentially a sign of what’s to come.
Prediction for 2021 Season Stat Line:
15 catches, 200 yards, 2 TD
