Alabama football’s All-Madden team

Wide Receivers

Starters: Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley and Amari Cooper

Bench: Henry Ruggs, Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle

There are some quality receivers who didn’t make the cut due to roster constraints, but you still have seven Alabama football receivers who will start for their respective teams this year.

The starters are the vets. Julio Jones is one of the best receivers in the game, and he’s followed by Ridley and Cooper. These three players have already proven themselves, and that is reflected in their Madden ratings.

Behind them are the Rydeouts. Alabama has four receivers who look ready to take over the NFL in the coming years. If you put an Alabama football roster together, they would have to be backups.

Running Backs

Starter: Derrick Henry

Bench: Josh Jacobs, Kenyan Drake and Najee Harris

It hurts to leave players like Mark Ingram and Damien Harris off the board, but cuts had to be made. Having more than four running backs felt like overkill.

There is no doubt that Henry is one of the best players in the NFL, and he’s essentially a cheat code in a virtual space. Behind him are three receiving backs who add unique skills to the game. Jacobs is a power back. Drake has speed. Najee has agility. If you use this roster in Franchise Mode, Jacobs and Harris will see their ratings go up over time.

Tight Ends

Starter: O.J. Howard

Bench: Irv Smith Jr.

Ideally, you would have more tight ends on the roster. Maybe Miller Forristall or Hale Hentges will inevitably work their way up the depth chart, but it simply can’t be justified at this point. Instead, you have two great receiving options at tight end.
