Alabama Crimson Tide Breakout No. 8

All spring and summer, buzz from Alabama Football fans has been praise and predictions about Ga’Quincy Kool-Aid McKinstry. The freshman had a strong fall camp and he certainly appears to be destined for stardom as one of the Crimson Tide’s greatest cornerbacks. McKinstry will play in 2021. He might work his way into regular action in dime formations. For now, he will have to wait to be a starting cornerback for the Crimson Tide.

Often-ignored, Jalyn Armour-Davis has been solid throughout spring and fall camp. Josh Jobe gets most of the attention, but JAD has quietly shown he can be as good as anyone in the Crimson Tide defensive backfield. Avoiding Josh Jobe to challenge Jalyn is not going to be effective for Crimson Tide opponents. JAD will have a breakout season.

Being behind Will Anderson Jr. and Chris Allen on the Tide depth chart is a tough spot. The Tide will use more than the pair for pressure off the edge. Drew Sanders and Chris Braswell will see far fewer snaps than the two starters but they will get meaningful snaps in every game. When they do, both are poised to deliver. The two sophomores will make some big plays in the 2021 season.
