Alabama Football: Week Two College Football Power Rankings
I’ll gladly accept that I was wrong about both the Razorbacks and the Longhorns. Arkansas absolutely destroyed Texas in a rekindling of the old rivalry between those two. After the game, Razorback Twitter was all over Texas with a savage tweet. Welcome to the league indeed.
The Hokies took care of former top 10 North Carolina in week one. They followed it up with a solid win over Middle Tennessee State. It wasn’t the most dominant win, but they did what they were supposed to do. They have a big road game against West Virginia next week followed by a matchup with Richmond, before Notre Dame comes to town on 10/9. Early on they look like the team most likely to challenge Clemson for the ACC crown this year.
Another solid win for Michigan. Washington was clearly overrated after losing to Montana week one, and they looked overmatched against Michigan this week. Michigan will likely be 4-0 going into a big game with Wisconsin on 10/2.
The Rebels have a much improved defense this season. Although, it is not very hard to improve on the dismal defense the Rebels had in 2020. A surprisingly difficult looking test looms next week with Tulane who has a very good offense this season. It could be a shootout in Oxford next week. Whatever the over/under is, take the over for that one.
