Alabama football players were all over the field

At this point, it is a given that some Alabama football star will shine in the NFL each week. However, this was an exceptionally solid string of games for Tide alumni. Almost every team has at least one Alabama football player on the roster, and plenty saw great matchups this Sunday.

Derrick Henry is becoming the best Alabama football player in the history of the NFL. After rushing for 2000 yards last year, he dominated against the Seattle Seahawks with 237 yards from scrimmage and 3 rushing touchdowns. His elite performance was what brought the Titans back and helped win the game in overtime.

Julio Jones also had a great day for the Titans. He had 128 receiving yards.

Another receiver with a great day was Henry Ruggs. The speedster scored on a deep throw by Derek Carr. He had 113 receiving yards including a 60+ yard touchdown against the Steelers. However, the best Alabama football play from that game was made by Najee Harris. Harris snatched a soul with a nasty stiff-arm. Najee also scored his first NFL touchdown.

Defensive players deserve more respect, and multiple corners earned it with big interceptions. Trevon Diggs snagged a pick against the Chargers’ Justin Herbert. It was his second interception in two weeks this season.

Patrick Surtain also got revenge against Trevor Lawrence by snagging a pick as well. Diggs and Surtain used to be starters in the same secondary, and now the Alabama football stars are making plays in the NFL on a regular basis. Levi Wallace also had a pick for the Bills.

Mac Jones didn’t fill the stat sheet, but he earned his first win as a starter in the NFL. It was against the Jets, but that is still a crucial milestone. He did it thanks to a nice touchdown by Damien Harris, another former Alabama football captain.

The only bad news was when Tua Tagovailoa went down with a rib injury. Miami’s offensive line struggled all game, and the Dolphins struggled without Tua under center. We’ll have to wait and see how long he is out.
