Alabama Football in the NFL: Week 2 Roundup

Week 2 of the 2021 NFL season has now officially passed with former Alabama Football players dominating the league once again. Here is a look at how each former Crimson Tide star performed in Week 2, as well as a look ahead to Week 3.

Offense

RB Derrick Henry – Tennessee Titans

Henry had a massive performance in the Titans 33-30 overtime win over the Seahawks. Receiving 35 carries, Henry rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns, as well as six catches for 55 yards.

WR Henry Ruggs III – Las Vegas Raiders

Ruggs turned in one of the best games of his young NFL career in Sunday’s 26-17 win over the Steelers. Ruggs hauled in five passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, while also returning a kick for 22 yards, as well as receiving one carry for two yards.

WR Julio Jones – Tennessee Titans

Jones had his best showing as a Titan in their 33-30 win over Seattle where he caught six passes for 128 yards.

Hurts added yet another solid performance in the Eagles 17-11 loss to San Francisco where he completed 12 of 23 passes for 190 yards. Hurts also carried the ball 10 times for 82 yards and a touchdown.

RB Najee Harris – Pittsburgh Steelers

Harris found the end zone for the first time in his NFL career in Pittsburgh’s 26-17 loss to the Raiders catching five passes for 43 yards and a score. Harris also had 10 carries for 38 yards.

Harris backed-up an impressive Week 1 with another solid performance in the Patriots 25-6 win over the Jets. Harris received 16 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown, as well as one catch for two yards.

QB Mac Jones – New England Patriots

While it wasn’t the most eye-popping stat line compared to a week ago, Jones was still very good in New England’s 25-6 win over the Jets. The rookie quarterback completed 22 of his 30 passes for 186 yards.

RB Kenyan Drake – Las Vegas Raiders

Seeing increased time with the absence of the injured Josh Jacobs, Drake had seven carries for nine yards, as well as five catches for 46 yards in a 26-17 win over Pittsburgh.
