Alabama Football Bold Prediction No. 1
Earlier in the week. it was discussed Lane Kiffin has the best chance to be the first Nick Saban assistant to beat his former boss. The defenses Kiffin practiced against in Tuscaloosa have changed since then, but Nick Saban’s (it is Saban’s, not Pete Golding’s) defense has not changed its coverage concepts enough to baffle Kiffin. Given that knowledge, and not just an extra week, but an entire offseason to prepare, Lane Kiffin has a chance to be the first assistant to take the boss. That will not happen Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
Crimson Tide Bold Prediction No. 2
The Crimson Tide offense will not match last season’s offensive output of 723 yards against Ole Miss in Oxford. Ole Miss may be better on defense this season, though how much better has not been revealed against weak opponents. The Alabama football offense is not as explosive as last season. The Rebels will hold the Tide to under 600 yards. That output will be all that is needed by an efficient Bill O’Brien game plan.
Alabama Football Bold Prediction No. 3
Last fall, the Ole Miss rushing attack gashed the Crimson Tide for 268 yards. This season the Rebels are averaging 298.7 yards per game. Lane Kiffin’s offense will not get close to that many yards in Tuscaloosa. Ole Miss will rush for less than 150 yards, forcing Matt Corral to beat the Crimson Tide with his arm.
