Game Preview: No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide vs No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels

When: Saturday, October 2 at 3:30 pm ET on CBS

Location: Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, AL

The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide welcome the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels to town in a rematch of last seasons back-and-forth showdown in Oxford. A game in which the Crimson Tide won 63-48, these two teams accounted for over 1,300+ total yards in a contest where the Tide and Rebels offense took center-stage.

Alabama is coming off a 63-14 win over Southern Miss a week ago, arguably the top-ranked Tide’s most dominant performance of the season. Not only did the Crimson Tide offense account for over 600-yards, but the defense held the Golden Eagles to only 213 yards while the special teams also accounted for two scores.

The Crimson Tide are off to a 4-0 start to the season after winning the national championship a year ago, and have already been tested as this will be their third ranked opponent so far this season through five games. Alabama has looked good so far this season on both sides of the ball, but will need to play better here, especially defensively.

Ole Miss are coming off a bye week a week ago with their most-recent contest being an impressive 61-21 win over Tulane at home. The Rebels high-powered offense accounted for 707 total yards in the contest, including an impressive 372 yards coming via the ground-game.

The Rebels come into this contest ranked as the No. 12 team in the country in the AP Poll, and are off to a 3-0 start in year two under head coach Lane Kiffin. Ole Miss holds wins over Louisville (neutral), Austin Peay, and Tulane with two coming at home, meaning this will be the first true-road test for the Rebels this season.
