No.1 Alabama football (5-0, 2-0 SEC) throttled No.12 Ole Miss Rebels (3-1, 0-1) and Lane Kiffin in SEC West battle.

College football fans anticipated this highly anticipated showdown of Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and his Heisman contending quarterback Matt Corral coming to Tuscaloosa to face the Crimson Tide. Last season, Kiffin and Corral tamed the eventual champs with an ultra fast-tempo offense, pushing Alabama football’s invincibility to the brink with a 63-48 victory.

Two weeks ago, No.1 Alabama struggled with the comparable Florida Gators offense, making fans wonder if the Crimson Tide could harness the Rebels high octane offense. Alabama jumped out to an early 35-0 lead as Kiffin’s three fourth-down gambles fizzled.

The Tide cruised to a 42-21 victory in a rowdy Bryant Denny Stadium, as Alabama held the Rebels to their lowest offensive output under Kiffin—291 yards.

Alabama Football and Saban Records Continue

Tied with the University of Central Florida for the NCAA record of 30 plus points in 31 consecutive games, Saban maintained an undefeated record against his former assistants (24-0).
