Phidarian Mathis and Will Anderson

Whenever former Heisman contender Corral received the snap, wrecking balls Mathis or Anderson were already in the backfield, ready to disrupt the play.

The duo combined for 12 tackles, two sacks, and 3.5 tackles for loss.

Second Half Intensity

The intensity waned once the defense took the field in the second half with a 35-0 lead. Corral began to find the open passing lanes, the running backs started picking up yards, and the offensive line gave the quarterback time to throw. The lack of intensity remains a concern because letting up almost cost the game in the Swamp.

The offense did not convert a fourth and one to close out the game as the Rebels defense stuffed Robinson for no gain with four minutes remaining.

Coach Saban mentioned it in his  post-game press conference,

"“If there’s a negative in the game, we got to learn how to finish games. We didn’t finish the game like we’d like.”"

As the Texas A&M Aggies await, pencil this win as a sweet victory for the Crimson Tide. This game should also provide a cautionary tale of dominating the entire 60 minutes of football.
