Another week and another time for Alabama Football BOLD Predictions.

A quick summary of last week shows a 4-3 result. That takes the Bold Prediction record after five games to 18 correct and 16 wrong.

The right amount of boldness, balanced against a respectable record of correct predictions is always a challenge. For such an exercise to have value, both too many correct and too many wrong predictions would not deliver.

The entire Ole Miss Bold Predictions post is available here.

  • Correct – Despite the best chance to be the first assistant to beat Nick Saban, the advantage Lane Kiffin had from his time with Nick Saban, was, as predicted, not enough.
  • Correct – As predicted, the Rebels did hold the Alabama Football offense for under 600 yards (the Tide got 451 yards of offense) and it was all an efficient Bill O’Brien gameplan needed.
  • Correct – Ole Miss did rush for less than 150 yards. The total was 78 net yards.
  • Correct (mostly) – The prediction was for a total of six tackles for-a-loss (TFL), including three sacks. The Crimson Tide got seven TFLs, including two sacks.
  • Wrong – Ole Miss did not have four false-start penalties. The Rebels had only two.
  • Wrong – The prediction was Matt Corral would complete less than 60 percent of his passes. Going 20-of-29, the Ole Miss quarterback completed almost 69 percent.
  • Wrong (but close) – The late-week prediction was for the Alabama Crimson Tide to beat Ole Miss easily. It did, but the predicted margin was in the high teens and the Tide won by 21 points.
