Alabama football has to focus on these things

Texas A&M may no longer be ranked, but Alabama football still has a tough test this Saturday against the Aggies. The Tide are coming off of two straight weeks against highly-ranked opponents with potent offenses, and they cannot slack now that they are heading to College Station.

Alabama will see another hostile environment in Bryce Young’s second true road start of his college football career. What needs to happen for the Tide to thrive?

3. Next man up

Alabama has unfortunately experienced too many injuries this season. The depth will keep them afloat, but you still have to have the backups play well in their new roles.

Drew Sanders was already a new starter when Chris Allen went down, but he now needs to be replaced as well. Chris Braswell and Dallas Turner will have to step up as a tandem to replace Sanders.

The talent and potential are both there, but these two players lack experience. They will see more reps on Saturday than they are used to, and they will need to play well to stop the Aggies.

This goes for the backup running backs as well. Brian Robinson proved that he can be the bell cow, but there is a hole at RB2. Trey Sanders will likely see his role increase, and this will help him prove that he is a starting-caliber running back. Alabama now has three running backs who are worth starting. This is a good number, but there were six in the spring.
