3 keys for Alabama football to dominate vs. Aggies

2. Stop the run

Alabama’s defense played better last Saturday than they have all season, but that won’t be enough for the rest of the year. Texas A&M’s offense is worse than Ole Miss, but the Tide must get better on defense as the season progresses.

Like in most games, winning isn’t enough for Alabama football this Saturday. To dominate, they need to show that their strong defensive performance last week can be replicated. Specifically, they need to stop the run.

The Aggies have as many interceptions as passing touchdowns this year. Alabama football does not have to commit to stopping an electric quarterback. However, they average 5 yards per carry. Isaiah Spiller is one of the most underrated running backs in the SEC, and he will see plenty of touches. Alabama has to stop this to leave the Aggies offense without a way to advance the ball.

1. Win the fourth quarter

This one should be obvious. Alabama has been the best first-half team in college football, but they have yet to play an entire four quarters. They have gotten closer, but there is still work to be done.

Regardless of the score, Alabama needs to bring the same intensity in the fourth quarter that they do to the first. That is how they will show that they are truly a dominant force against any opponent in any environment.

Alabama should win this game, but these are the keys to leave College Station with a dominant win.
