Texas A&M Aggies Players to Watch
DL DeMarvin Leal
The Aggies top player on the defensive side of the ball is Leal who leads Texas A&M with 4.5 sacks on the season, as well as tied-third with 22 tackles. Leal recorded two sacks a week ago against Mississippi State.
RB Isaiah Spiller
Texas A&M’s leading rusher is Spiller who has totaled 445 yards and two touchdowns on 68 carries this season, as well as 13 catches for 106 yards and a score. The junior has carried the ball a combined 21 times for 52 yards against Alabama the past two seasons.
DB Antonio Johnson
The Aggies leading tackler, Johnson has totaled 41 tackles on the season, as well as four passes defensed. Johnson amassed a season-high 15 tackles against Mississippi State a week ago.
RB Devon Achane
Achane has had a strong sophomore season carrying the ball 43 times for 296 yards and two touchdowns. Achane has also caught 14 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.
WR Ainias Smith
The Aggies leading receiver, Smith has hauled in 20 passes this season for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Smith enjoyed a big game against the Crimson Tide a year ago accounting for 150+ total yards and two touchdowns.
QB Zach Calzada
Taking over as the Aggies starting quarterback after an injury to Haynes King in Week 2, Calzada has completed 53.9% of his passes for 744 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions. Calzada has thrown an interception in his last three games, as well as being sacked a combined nine times during that span.
TE Jalen Wydermyer
Wydermyer is currently second on the Texas A&M offense in receiving with 15 catches for 176 yards and a touchdown on the season. The junior hauled in eight passes for 82 yards against Alabama a year ago.
LB Aaron Hansford
The Aggies second leading tackler, Hansford has totaled 36 tackles on the season. The senior has also added two sacks and two passes defensed.
K Seth Small
Small is a perfect 12/12 on extra points this season, as well as 9/10 on field goals. Small is also a perfect 6/6 on field goals from 40-49 yards with his lone miss coming from 50+.
DL Michael Clemons
Another prominent pass rusher alongside Leal on the defensive line is Clemons. The senior has totaled 14 tackles with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
