  • January 2019 – Clemson 46 – Alabama 16

A game Alabama Crimson Tide fans would like to forget was an anomaly. Clemson destroyed the Crimson Tide and there is nothing to gain from a further recap.

  • November 2019 – LSU 46 – Alabama 41

College football’s most explosive offense ever (until the next season), led by LSU QB, Joe Burrow was too much for the Tide. A game but gimpy Tua Tagovailoa played the contest on one good ankle. On the Tide’s first drive, Tua had a stunning fumble inside the LSU 10. Tua was not under duress, but the ball popped out of his hand and was recovered by LSU. Tua later threw an interception.

  • November 2019 – Auburn 48 – Alabama 45

Subbing for an injured Tua, Mac Jones threw for 335 yards. Mac also had two interceptions, including a 100-yard pick-six after Mac’s pass bounced off the back of Najee Harris. Joseph Bulovas missed a late 30-yard field goal that dinged off an upright.

  • October 2020 – Texas A&M 41 – Alabama 38

Aggies QB, Zach Calzada had a big game with 285 yards and three touchdowns, but he faced little pressure from the Crimson Tide defense. Against the Aggies, the Tide had no sacks and no quarterback hurries. Dropped passes, communication mistakes in the secondary and blown coverage on a kickoff were the reasons the Crimson Tide lost in College Station.

Conclusion about Alabama Football Losses

Beating an Alabama Football team requires a strong QB performance. That was the case in most of the Tide’s nine losses in the Playoff era. A bigger contributor to Crimson Tide losses was simply the Tide beating itself. In six of the nine losses going back to the 2014 season, it was Crimson Tide mistakes, more than what an opponent did that doomed the Tide.

The best recipe for Alabama Football wins is simply not to beat itself.

Alabama Football has six more regular-season games. If it does not beat itself, the Crimson Tide will win all of them.
