Mississippi State Bulldogs Players to Watch
QB Will Rogers
Rogers has completed 75.7% of his passes this season for 1,862 yards with 14 touchdowns and two interceptions. In the Bulldogs last game two weeks ago at Texas A&M, Rogers completed 46 of 59 passes for 408 yards and three touchdowns.
WR Makai Polk
Polk leads the Bulldogs in receiving having caught 46 passes this season for 430 yards and four touchdowns. The junior has caught a touchdown in each of Mississippi State’s last three games.
RB Jo’quavious Marks
Mississippi State uses two running backs often in both the run and pass game with arguably the top option being Marks. For the season, Marks has carried the ball 40 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns, while also having caught 38 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns.
CB Emmanuel Forbes
Forbes has been one of the most-impactful players on the Bulldogs defense this season having collected 26 tackles with two interceptions, a sack, a forced fumble, and two passes defensed. Forbes collected six tackles against Alabama a year ago.
RB Dillon Johnson
Mississippi State’s other primary running back is Johnson who has carried the ball 29 times this season for 149 yards and a touchdown. Johnson has also caught 31 passes for 201 yards.
LB Jett Johnson
Johnson leads the Mississippi State defense with 37 tackles, as well as having collected two passes defensed and a forced fumble. The junior has collected 8+ tackles in four-of-five games this season.
S Fred Peters
Peters ranks second on the Bulldogs defense with 30 tackles and two interceptions. The senior saw time against Alabama back in 2019 where he made one tackle.
LB Tyrus Wheat
Wheat has totaled 14 tackles on the season, as well as two sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, and a pass defensed. The senior had one tackles and two fumble recoveries against Alabama last season.
WR Jaden Walley
Walley has caught 19 passes this season for 202 yards and four touchdowns. The sophomore caught three passes against the Crimson Tide a year ago for 18 yards.
DE Randy Charleton
Arguably Mississippi State’s top pass rusher on the defensive line is Charleton. For the season, Charleton has collected 17 tackles and two sacks.
