PF Herbert Jones – New Orleans Pelicans

One of the greatest Alabama Basketball players in recent memory, Jones is now set for his rookie season in the NBA after being selected No. 35 overall in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft by New Orleans.

2020-21 Season Recap

The 2020-21 SEC Player and Defensive Player of the Year, Jones averaged 11.2 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 3.3 APG, 1.7 SPG, and 1.1 BPG. Jones also shot 44.6% from the field a year ago, as well as a career-high 35.1% from three.

Team Outlook

As mentioned previously, the Pelicans missed the playoffs last season at 31-41 overall. New Orleans should contend for a playoff spot in the Western Conference this season.

2021-22 Outlook

Jones will likely play a key reserve role for the Pelicans this season, one that could see the former SEC Player of the Year play prominent minutes at times. Jones should be one of the second round picks from this years draft to see the most playing time this season.

Prediction for 2021-22 Season Stat Line: 4.4 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.4 SPG, 1.1 BPG, 43.1 FG%, 33.1 3P%, 70.2 FT%
