Alabama Basketball in the NBA: 2021-22 Season Preview
By Matt Melton
Alabama Basketball also has a few former players that while they may not be directly playing in the NBA at the moment, are still playing professionally either in the US or overseas.
SG Levi Randolph – Filou Oostende
After spending the last three seasons with the Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers G-League affiliate, Randolph spent the remainder of the 2021 season with the New Zealand Breakers in the NBL (Australia) where he averaged 14.8 PPG across 15 games. Randolph is spending the 2021-22 season with Filou Oostende of the BXNT League in Belgium and the Basketball Champions League.
PG Retin Obasohan – Hapoel Jerusalem
Spending last season with ERA Nymburk in the Czech NBL where he won the Czech Republic league title as Finals MVP, Obasohan is currently playing with Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Premier League.
SF John Petty Jr – New Orleans Pelicans
After spending four seasons with the Crimson Tide, Petty recently signed with the New Orleans Pelicans where he will likely spend the 2021-22 season with New Orleans G-League team in Birmingham, the Birmingham Squadron.
C Donta Hall – AS Monaco Basket
Spending the 2021 NBA season splitting time between the NBA’s G-League Ignite, Raptors 905, and the Orlando Magic, Hall is currently playing with AS Monaco Basket in the LNB Pro A in France and the EuroLeague.
While Alabama Basketball gets set for what should be a phenomenal 2021-22 college basketball season, former Crimson Tide stars are set to impress at the professional level this season in both the NBA and elsewhere.
