Another week and another time for Alabama Football BOLD Predictions.

Last week’s results from the Mississippi State game were four correct and two wrong. That takes the Bold Prediction record after six games to 26 correct and 21 wrong.

  • Correct – State QB Will Rogers went into the game completing 75.7 percent of his passes. The prediction was he would be under 70 percent against the Tide and his number was 63.6 percent.
  • Correct – Will Rogers had not completed a pass of more than 30 yards all season. The prediction was at least one completion against the Tide would go for 30-plus yards. His longest completion was 43 yards.
  • Correct – The Tide used three defensive linemen frequently against the Bulldogs with LaBryan Ray getting a start and five defensive linemen rotating for the Crimson Tide. Also as predicted the Tide used dime formations more frequently, including at the start.
  • Wrong – The Tide blew past the predicted number of three sacks, with Will Anderson getting four by himself. But Dallas Turner was not part of any of the Tide’s seven sacks.
  • Wrong – The Crimson Tide was much more run-heavy than predicted. Though many of the rushes were in the mop-up period of the game, the ratio was over 59 percent running plays.
  • Correct – Total points in the game were predicted to be 52-62 and the total was 58 points.

Making bold predictions for the Tennessee game is made more tricky with the status of three key  Vols unknown. QB, Hendon Hooker, RB, Tiyon Evans and OL Cade Mays may or may not play Saturday night.
