Alabama Football Bold Prediction No. 1

Whether it is Hendon Hooker or Joe Milton at quarterback, the Alabama football defense will get frequent pressure on a Vols QB. The result will not be equal to the seven sacks against Mississippi State, because the Vols will not throw 55 passes as Will Rogers did. Despite the fewer opportunities for sacks, the Crimson Tide will get at least five against the Vols or a total of six tackles for a loss. This prediction is based on the Alabama football defense continuing to play with a purpose after a statement game against Mississippi State.

Crimson Tide Bold Prediction No. 2

In four of the Vols’ last five games, the offense has produced more than 200 yards, both running and throwing. If Joe Milton is the Tennessee starter at QB, the Vols will not pass for 200 yards. If Hendon Hooker is the QB, the Vols will not rush for 200 yards. Either way, the Alabama Crimson Tide defense will hold the Tennessee Vols under 400 net yards of offense.

Bold Prediction No. 3

The Vols defense is better against the run than it is against the pass. That is counter to the fact the Vols are often effective pressuring opposing quarterbacks. The discrepancy comes from weak pass coverage. Bill O’Brien’s scheme and Bryce Young’s composure will frequently find open Crimson Tide receivers. The distribution of Young’s passes will be among several receivers, with the end result being Young passing for at least 400 yards.
